Upcoming Ramma Lamma and Chinese Telephones shows

Although the DJG aren't making any appearances for awhile as I'm still working on the full length, if you live in the Midwest you can catch me playing some stringed instruments in Ramma Lamma and Chinese Telephones.

Upcoming Ramma Lamma shows:
2/11 - Milwaukee, WI (The Monkey Bar)
3/2 - Chicago, IL (tba w/ Cozy)
3/3 - Milwaukee, WI (tba w/ Cozy)
3/31 - Milwaukee, WI (Linnemann's w/ Mind Spiders)

Upcoming Chinese Telephones shows:
2/17 - Stevens Point, WI (House show - 1741A Main St)
2/18 - Minneapolis, MN (Grumpy's w/ Nato Coles)

Although the process is going by pretty slow, the DJG full length is looking pretty damn killer.  Although I can't guarantee any kind of release date on this thing, I guarantee it'll be awesome.  I'll at least be teasing you with another digital single in the near future of one of the poppier numbers from the record, so stay posted for some rock n' roll.

New Digital Single

Here's your first taste of the brand new Daniel James Gang.  This is a rough mix of a song from the full length album that we are currently working on.  This track features Kevin DeMars on drums and me on everything else and it was recorded in my basement.  You can stream the track all you want, or download it for free.

Ramma Lamma Fa Fa Fa

In case you haven't been following me on whatever lame-o social networking tool I happen to be posting on at the time, I have joined forces with Milwaukee's number one boogie-woogie-glam explosion, Ramma Lamma.  If you're unfamiliar with the group, they're fronted by Wendy Norton (Plexi-3, Lookers, Flips) and Ryan King (Kill-A-Watts, Plexi-3).  They have released 2 singles and an EP with 2 more singles on the way.  You can watch the video below.  My first two shows with the group will be on December 10th in Milwaukee and December 30th in Chicago.  The Milwaukee show is a release party for our Christmas themed single, and everyone who attends will receive a free 7".  The Chicago show is with the Detroit Cobras.

Also, if it's Daniel James Gang stuff you're itching for you've probably heard we've been recording new tunes.  Although we don't necessarily know what we're planning on doing with the new recordings yet (full length, series of singles and EPs, etc) we'll be giving you your first taste of the brand new Daniel James Gang later this week with a free digital single.  Keep your eyes peeled.

Additionally Chinese Telephones will be playing 4 shows this month in Michigan and Ottawa.

"Nothin' I Can Do" + Tour Dates

The Daniel James Gang have finally released the followup to "In This City". This hot slab of vinyl features "Nothin' I Can Do" a hot powerpop jam along with the hard rockin' double b-side of "I'm So Bored" and "If He Knew". The record is available in either hot pink or regular black vinyl. Additionally there are 5-song CD maxi-single versions available featuring all three cuts, plus both sides of the first single. The record is also available for download on our downloads page. You can order the record, plus lots of other merch, including our first single and t-shirts at our merch page.

To celebrate the release of the record Daniel James Gang have booked upcoming shows in Milwaukee and Chicago. There are dates in Minneapolis, Madison, and Stevens Point in the works for this Winter as well as an East Coast tour planned for July. Keep checking out tour page for more information. Daniel will also be celebrating his birthday by playing guitar for Chinese Telephones at Chaos in Tejas in Austin this June.

Update!

Due to delays at the pressing plant, the "Nothing I Can Do" single is running a little late, but should be available by November 1st.

The new and improved Daniel James Gang will be playing our first show on October 22nd in Milwaukee at Cactus Club. Chances are pretty good for a Midwest tour in December as well. Stay posted for details.

Daniel James will be also be playing a pair of shows in Florida with Chinese Telephones over Halloween weekend. On Thursday, October 28, the 'Phones will be playing a bbq at ADD Records in Tampa, and on Friday the 29th, they will be playing at the Atlantic as part of the Fest 9 in Gainesville.
